Johan Zandhuis, our client, and IT expert, has published a fascinating article discussing how outsourcing can turn hidden yet avoidable costs into visible, albeit avoidable, pain. He acknowledges the crucial role of management and the importance of effective communication, most specifically between offshore and onshore teams. His recognition of what it takes to work within international environments boasts intercultural competency.
Johan hired us because he suspected that intercultural competency was the crucial, missing element in moving ahead in the business arena.  Working closely with him, I have witnessed, and helped resolve situations involving this visible pain resulting from not applying effective intercultural communication. The tangible successes have resulted in Johan becoming an evangelist for the development of knowledge in this field, especially when it comes to teams using SCRUM and other Agile methods in outsourcing IT projects.
Johan now sees the value of intercultural competency so clearly that he spends time working with us, to ensure that other IT companies experience the benefits of learning and effectively applying these skills.
You can read here about Johan, and his direct involvement in our up-and-coming open workshop on 10 May, which will demonstrate the importance of intercultural competency in outsourcing: http://www.bril.solutions/home/open-workshops/
